L ata Mangeshkar was born on 28 September 1929 in Indoor, Madhya Pradesh. Her father Deenanath Mangeshkar was a classical singer and theater actor. He started learning music for Lata when she was 5 years old. Lata Mangeshkar has been an example of the melodious voice given by God, a lively expression, and an incredible ability to grasp anything quickly since her childhood. She started her career in the theater when she was 5 years old. Lata was named Hema at her birth, but her father renamed her name after a female character, Latika in one of her father's plays "Bhav Bandhan". Lata was the eldest child of her family.

Lata Mangeshkar was an Indian playback singer and music composer. She was considered one of the greatest singers and most influential singers in India. In the Indian music industry, she was known as the Nightingale of India, Voice of the Millennium, and Queen of Melody. She recorded songs in over 36 Indian languages and some foreign languages though primarily in Hindi and Marathi. She received lots of accolades and honors throughout her career. She becomes the first Indian to perform at Royal Albert Hall, London.
Lata Mangeshkar's musical journey was not that easy, she had to face many difficulties to take her place. Many musicians refused her saying that her voice was too thin, due to this she was refused many times to work.
