Types of Forensic Fingerprints

F ingerprints are the most common and important uses in a criminal investigation for individual identification. It is the most important criminal investigation clue which is used by forensic investigators for centuries due to its two most important features First is their persistence, and the seconds one is their uniqueness.



In crime shows, detective movies, criminal cases, and other places where police investigate the case investigator's one of the main tasks is that recover fingerprint impression from the crime scene. This method of fingerprint helps to cop in investigating the case and find the suspect. As per the forensic, they divide these fingerprints according to the investigation into three types. These three categories are the following- 1 PATENT PRINTS, 2 LATENT PRINTS, 3 PLASTIC PRINTS.

PATENT PRINTS


Patent fingerprints have occurred when the skin of the hand or finger comes in touch with a smooth surface of another object or items like paint, grease, blood, ink, or dirt. These types of fingerprints are easily visible with human eyes, it does not require any kind of optical or microscope to look into. that's why this is also called Visible Print. These can be photographed directly by camera there is no need for any powder and other objects to find them. 

LATENT PRINTS


Latent print comes when a finger touches an object like a table, wall, window, glass, and other objects. This fingerprint comes when skin sweat and oil come in contact with the surface of another object. We cannot see these types of fingerprints directly from our eyes we have to need optical which can find it and we can not capture them directly we have to use powder, chemicals,s and other techniques to make them visible.

PLASTIC PRINTS


Plastic fingerprints are made by pressing your fingers in fresh paint wax, soap, putty, and it's made when fingers touch the soft malleable surface. These are like patent prints these are easily observable by human eyes there is no need for any other types of additional process for their visibility.
