What is Metabolism?
For our body to function smoothly, every cell of our body needs some energy so that it can function properly in our body, whether it is reaching the nutrients in our brain, pump oxygen from our lungs to our muscles, and making deep white blood cells in our body. For all this, we get energy from the calories present in the food which we eat and metabolism converts the same calories into energy that we received from food. This metabolism is also called blood glucose.

How Does Metabolism Work?
Hormones and the nervous system control our metabolism. When we consume food, digestive enzymes break down carbohydrates, fats, and proteins into a form that the body can use for growth or energy. Metabolism is the total amount of the biochemical reactions involved in maintaining the living condition of the cells in an organism. All living organisms require energy for different essential processes and for producing new organic substances.

Types of Metabolic Process
We can categorize metabolic into two types- Catabolic and Anabolic. It is also called Catabolism and Anabolism, usually, catabolism release energy and anabolism consume energy.
- Catabolism- Catabolic breakdown of compounds such as carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, are broken down into smaller molecules to provide immediate energy for the body. This energy provides fuel for processes such as heating the body.
- Anabolism- Anabolism work for building up compounds such as proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids. It is used for the growth of new cells and to maintain the tissues of our body, and the energy is stored as fat.

How to Increase Metabolism?
Metabolism can be increased in many types-
- To increase metabolism, we have to be fit and healthy, we have to eat to deliver proper energy for our body to perform its function. Eating in little quantities can slow down our metabolism and our body cannot provide essential minerals.
- Having a proper breakfast boosts up the body's metabolism and keeps us energetic hole day. Skipping breakfast always loses our body's metabolic level.
- Including more organic foods like peaches, bell peppers, celery, apples, lettuce, grapes can boost up the metabolism rate in our body.
